Sasami (no, the pic on the left isn't of him) is a regular on IRC, although, recently, other matters have sometimes detracted from his time there. However, he still comes on IRC whenever he can. Sasami, or in real life, Chris Ess, is a college dropout. He works as a system administrator for a local webhosting company, allegedly trying to save up money so he can go back to North Carolina State University and get his bachelors degree in either computer engineering or computer science. The circumstances for which he had to leave college are something he will talk about, although not usually by choice. However, he will point out that he did not drop out due to his GPA but because he lost his financial aid loans. He watches large amounts of anime, or Japanese animation, which is the origin of his nick, as well as the picture. While both his nick and the pic on the left come from the anime Tenchi Muyo! (also known as No Need for Tenchi), his favourite anime series is Kousuke Fujishima's Aa! Megami-sama (known as Oh! My Goddess in the United States). By luck, or per chance fate, he has actually had some of his poems published? Two of his poems, Crystal and Untitled, was published in the second issue of The Blue Mirror, the literary magazine at the North Carolina School of Science and Math. Four, Cantus Noctis, Càrissima Amìca, Lux Astrae, and Viola Carae, were published in the two issues of Panther Tales, the literary magazine of James B. Dudley High School in Greensboro. Most recently, two, Convocation and Enchantress, were accepted to be published in the 1999 edition of Windhover, the literary magazine of North Carolina State University. And despite of whatever honors he may or may not achieve, how much he might seem to be gifted, he is still most certainly odd. |
