The Emerald Sanctuary
Site Logs

08/25/98: Construction on this site both started and finished. Five of my poems and 18 written by buttons grace this site.

08/26/98: Added 21 more of my poems. Total now is Sasami: 26, buttons: 18. Would add more but the hurricane decided to visit so the lab got closed.

08/27/98: Restructured the main page and added indices.

08/28/98: Number of contributors up to five. On Gadget's suggestion, changed the link colors to the current green/emerald. Remind me not to do such a massive bit again.

08/29/98: Posted the first art submissions today. (They were a pain, but at least they're done.) We had our first impartial review of the site today... very inspiring. I must remember to log this site with the search engines and pester the contributors to add links to here...

08/30/98: Made a new logo that fits the emerald motif better and posted the link graphics.

09/02/98: I have gotten maybe 16 hours of sleep within the last few days, and it's not very comfortable. However, I only have two poems left in the queue. I'll do them tomorrow.

09/06/98: I have a current waiting queue of 0. Finally. We have a total of 169 poems and 13 drawings.

09/11/98: Waiting queue of 0 again. I have added a page for the new works that get submitted. I'll come up with a total later.

09/12/98:Total: 185 poems, 13 drawings. Total size is about 800k, not including the art submissions.

09/19/98: Finally applied weblint, one of the few useful perl scripts I've ever seen. As a result, the code in the Sanctuary is fully compatible with any browser without the possibility of fuzzy translation. Also, I added our first prose submission today not affiliated with Canticle of a Rose. Current total: 188 poems, 1 prose, 13 drawings, and 3 vignettes in Canticle of a Rose.

09/28/98: Total: 195 poems, 1 prose, 13 drawings, 3 vignettes. Added warped.net logo to the bottom of the main page. May move the selected works to a separate page... Redid new works page by weeks... Only will keep a max of four weeks there.

10/05/98: Still at work. Rebuild of index page complete, although some pages are yet to be designed. I think we're doing well so far...

10/14/98: Still at work. I've expanded the reconstruction slightly, although I'm not really any farther along than when I left for fall break. It will be done, be patient...

10/15/98: Still at work. (Notice a trend here?) Finally fixed problems with the capybara mirror that I wasn't aware of. Posted stuff for the channel summaries on the warped.net forum. Need to start the mailing list. Ah well... 10000 things to do... Like usual

10/17/98: Still at work. (Trend's still going.) Added a guestbook and am adding code for adding links. Still need to start the mailing list. At least I finally got to add stuff.

11/04/98: Still at work. Still need to start the mailing list. Still need to do the warped.net page... Still need to do a lot of stuff, don't I? Anyway, the current total is 214 poems, 2 stories (and thanks to Holly for sending us the second one), and 13 drawings, for a total of 229.

12/14/98: Okay, fine, I'm behind on my work on this site and I haven't made a log entry in the longest time. Anyway, we're up to 219 and 6. I'm not going to be able to do any work or additions until 03 January 1999, so this site isn't going to change.

03/02/99: And, yet again, I'm behind on work. But I've actually gone around and fixed a bunch of the HTML bugs I left lurking around. If I keep doing work, I should have this batch of modifications done by the end of the month.

04/09/99: Added a site news page... Now since we finally have some news worth putting up... I still haven't finished the revisions I began sometime last autumn.

1/23/00: Survived y2k. Finally updated the indices and brought the site up to date for content. The page for warped.net is still barely started, but perhaps all shall be fixed this semester.

9/22/00: This is the first update since January. I have done virtually no work on the site, but no one else would notice. I seriously need to figure out how to get more people to come here. I especially think those in #keepquiet would be interested, but I don't really know how to broach the subject there.

2/18/02: Currently in a very, very massive revision of the site. Changing the backend to use a database and removing most of the excess waste.

2/28/02: First update phase is complete and posted.
