Growing and blooming
to a beautiful existence,
this tree soaring above my head
holds within it all my dreams,
and as each leaf falls
to the ground,
along with them
go my hopes.
Fallen and helpless
unsheltered and scared,
they're treaded upon and shattered
lost within the confusion
and fallen in the gutter.
Crisp remnants lay tainted
upon the sidewalk.
