We once danced, you and I,
Amidst a bed of roses,
Beneath the light of the
Moon and stars. I had no
Flowers then, and I have
None now, yet around you, there
Seem to be blooms sprouting --
Chimerical if not
Physical. But the rose
Is your flower, perhaps
The prettiest of all.
Someday I hope to have
A rose for you, but that
Day is perhaps far off.
You and I both know what
The rose is a message
Of, but I won't say it
For fear that your journey
May be sidetracked -- do not
Even think it, but know it
