Illuminated manuscripts
Holding keys to an eternal
Future, telling of an olden
Eternal Past in an ancient
Tongue written by a long-dead scribe,
When the old civilization
Was at its height ere the evil
Came and laid waste to the Eden
Where our people once lived, only
To see us thrown into a fiery
Eternal War, razing what were
The great achievements of our race --
Mine and yours -- and now we wonder
If the War has claimed what virtue
Our race once possessed as we watch
Our home, our city, burning to
The already ashen soil.
