Sweet Lullaby

He touched my cheek, gazed into my eyes,
Twirled my hair around his finger.
"Close your eyes and let me into your soul,"
"Hush my baby, sweet lullaby."
Hands crept, minds deceived,
"Hush my baby, sweet lullaby."
Brittle caresses, innocent tears,
"Yes, my baby, let me in..."
Jagged edges, a scarred heart,
"That's my girl, sweet child."
Drowning in deception,
He took with him my locks of innocence,
"Hush my baby, sweet lullaby."
